I am goiing to tell you something that the producers of these websites don't want you to know
The website and the ads that appear within a certain are from two different production companies. (Or more.) Now, I know par of the reason there are few to none when it comes to gay ad packages is homophobia.A mild case to be sure, but still there. The stereotype about the best coders being awkward around women, no social life and so on, has some basis in truth.
And a lot these guys were picked on in school. Now, those scars run deep and unless given an extremely good reason, are often not dealt with. Homophobia is right up there on that list.
You know the rest -- if they created an ad campaign targeted at gay men that would make everyone wonder if they were gay. I never have figured out why they just don't hire gay coder. An out gat coder -- they do exist. This would also help them with the problem of the site defaulting to the straight section. Why you cannot change that, say in 'personal settings' is beyond my comprehension.,But, remember we are a miniscule part of their potential clientele. By several orders of magnitude. Eventually, it will change because they will continue to look stupider more incopentant, and less responsive to the needs of their customers. THAT will cost them money. And MOST of the work has already been done. But, I sometimes wonder if this new breed of programmers understand how a flow chart works.,
